"Philautia (concept)"

Philautia is one of the Greek words for self-Love with deeper meaning that entirely differs from the Western world’s “me first” brand of egotism. It is far more complex and valuable than just Insta-guru capitalism-friendly “self-Love”

The ancient Greek philosophers believed that Philautia was required in order to genuinely experience the other types of Love (Eros, Agape, etcetera).

FoReal commissions: inner CD cover (left), album cover (right)

My friends and fellow musicians in the Eugene band FoReal requested that I create a few pieces for their first album, "No One Really Knows." The work was a good healthy challenge. It pushed me outside of my comfort zone, required teamwork (which I am not used to as a solo artist), and involved several explorative techniques. I am proud of the work I did and satisfied with the final results. FoReal has been hard at work these past couple years and still puts in the time and effort to include those they care for in what they do, so I gave these pieces my all in return. Thank you, guys! Rock on!
