"Hiraeth: The Music (2021-2024)" is a compilation album featuring the music from all three Hiraeth books (Blackout, Belonging, & Bonding).

     In the eighth grade, I accidentally discovered that I could sing when I was placed into choir instead of band (which was full). It was late 2017, and the only vocals I had done up to that point were to sing along with MxPx, Green Day, and Twenty One Pilots. Choir changed my life; but it especially introduced me to the wonderful world of musical theater.

     I've never fancied acting, but I certainly loved the songs those Broadway actors performed on the stage I so dreaded. So when I entered high school, I continued with choir and applied what I learned to creating my own musical of sorts.

     Because Hiraeth was my escape in writing, my "fictional world," the songs I started creating reflected it. As I composed, I wrote more; and as I wrote, I illustrated. Hiraeth grew into a realization of the phrase: "ut pictura poesis" ("as in painting, so in poetry").

     Thank you for giving your time to learn more about this most cherished creation of mine. Because Hiraeth lives as I do, there will always be more to come. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy making it.
